The meeting was attended by 12 residents of the Highlands Neighborhood Association. Planners Crystal Rain and Lena Walker from Boise’s Planning & Development Services gave a presentation on the new planning and development website. The new site allows visitors to look up the status of development projects in any location in Boise. The new zoning code will take affect December 1, 2023. The presentation is available for download below.
Traffic speeding mitigation options on Highland View Drive, Balmoral and Hearthstone were discussed at length. Increased patrolling by Boise police officers is desired by many, but may not be possible given low staffing. If you'd like to place a FREE traffic sign in your yard to discourage speeding in the Highlands, please contact Jeff Bradley. The Highlands Neighborhood Association is looking for volunteers to plan the annual picnic. Given the heat of the August 2023 picnic, HNA is targeting a Wednesday or Thursday evening in September 2024. The date for the Annual Picnic is scheduled for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL (half day) in August 2023 at Highlands Elementary School.
The Highlands Neighborhood Association is building an email list for future neighborhood communications. If you'd like to be added to this list, email HNA Treasurer Laura White Barton.
